In the early hours, an officer noticed a commotion and smoke coming from a residence. Upon realizing there was a fire, he kicked in the front door and entered the smoke-filled home. He located a 17-year-old at a second-floor window and led her to safety. The officer then re-entered the home to rescue the family’s pets, safely retrieving three dogs and one cat. The fire department arrived afterward to extinguish the fire, which had started in the kitchen.
