During a court hearing, a violent altercation occurred when two men attacked a murder suspect. The incident was captured on courtroom surveillance video, showing a victim’s relative and another man rushing from the gallery to confront the suspect as he stood before the judge. One man was seen punching the suspect, with the other joining the assault shortly after. Court officers and other family members quickly intervened to break up the fight. A corrections officer was also struck during the commotion. Both attackers have been arrested and are facing charges of assault and battery on a peace officer. One of them reportedly told deputies that he attacked the suspect because “he killed my niece like a coward” and expressed that “it was worth every moment.” The suspect is accused of murdering an ex-girlfriend earlier this year and is also a suspect in another fatal shooting that occurred days later.
